Striking Gateway to San Jose With Newly Proposed Development

An “iconic” gateway to San Jose. That is what a newly formed partnership between a group of real estate agents and developers is proposing for a site with high visibility near downtown San Jose. The site, currently owned by legendary Silicon Valley developer Charles Davidson, is perched along Highway 87 and offers great visibility for those entering the city.

This group, consisting of Urban Community real estate executives Gary Dillabough and Jeff Arrillaga, and Terrascape Ventures developers Tony Arreola and Mark Lazzarini, has been formed to develop the proposed office tower. They envision a dynamic, elegant design for this 14-story high rise dubbed the “Davidson Plaza Tower.”

The Davidson Plaza Tower would feature an urban plaza, indoor atriums with considerable natural light, outdoor terraces, a sky garden, and a multipurpose space on the rooftop that could accommodate banquets or a restaurant. The rooftop space would also accommodate air taxis for people as well as drone package deliveries, while the sky garden would offer a destination location for the community.

The development joins a growing list of construction projects in the works for downtown San Jose where Google is planning a transit-oriented village near Diridon and Adobe is already well underway with construction on a 4th office tower to expand their downtown headquarters.

Additionally, Jay Paul Co., Sobrato Organization, and Boston Properties, three of the Bay Area’s most successful developers, are in varying stages of development — or construction — on major office complexes.

The Davidson Plaza Tower project is still a proposal and must gain approval from San Jose city planners and officials.Source: https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/10/08/big-office-tower-poised-downtown-san-jose-gateway-google-adobe/
