Inaugural Food Truck Festival to Debut in Downtown San Jose

If you’re a fan of one of the latest crazes to sweep the nation, gourmet food trucks, mark Saturday, April 2 on your calendar. Downtown San Jose is finally getting its own food truck festival! SJ Eats: A Moveable Feast will feature about 20 food trucks serving lunch and dinner in downtown San Jose at the Fallon House on the corner of N. Almaden Avenue and W. St. John Street. Local favorites like MoGo BBQ and The WoW Truck will be joined by some of San Francisco’s most popular trucks including Chairman Bao (Chinese pork buns), Sam’s Chowdermobile (enough said), and Hapa SF (modern organic Filipino food). Other trucks joining SJ Eats are Treatbot (ice cream and karaoke!), Kara’s Cupcakes, Bill’s Beer Steamed Hot Dogs, Roli Roti (rotisserie), Curry Up Now (Indian street food), Little Green Cyclo (Vietnamese street food), Louisiana Territory (Cajun), MoBowl (Chinese rice bowls), Babaloo (organic Cuban), and TacGos just to name a few. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm, and dinner served from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In conjuction with SJ Eats, SJMade is having another vendor faire in downtown San Jose also on April 2. SJMade will pop up on San Pedro Square in the spaces formerly occupied by Spiedo Restaurant (corner of Santa Clara and San Pedro Stgreets) and the Tied House (San Pedro Street). SJMade will feature local San Jose vendors hawking everything from apparel to handmade pottery, camera accessories, jewelry, hair accessories, food products, and much more. Hours are 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Bring plenty of cash. Some vendors are equipped to accept credit cards, but not all are. So on Saturday, April 2, downtown San Jose will be the place to be. Come support local vendors at SJMade and enjoy some of the best street food around at SJ Eats.
