South FIRST FRIDAYS is a vibrant monthly event that transforms San Jose's SoFA District into a lively hub of arts and culture. Held on the first Friday of each month, this free, family-friendly art walk showcases a diverse array of exhibitions, live performances, and creative activities across multiple venues. The upcoming event on February 7, 2025, marks the 19th year of ArtWalk SJ, promising an extraordinary lineup that brings the community together through arts and music.

Event Highlights:

• Anno Domini (366 S. First St.): Hosting the artist's reception for "Divine Intervention" by Dale vN Collins from Ireland. Collins' work explores the transformation of negativity into positivity through intuitive mark-making and layers of graffiti poetry. His latest series channels subconscious energies, blending influences from Impressionist masters with the raw energy of Neo-Expressionism.
• KALEID Gallery (320 S. First St.): Presenting "Debut," an exhibition featuring the art students of resident artist Jennifer DeChenne. This collection showcases pieces by young and budding artists, offering a glimpse into their personalities and artistic journeys. The exhibition aims to encourage and support these talented individuals in their first public showing.
• MACLA (510 S. First St.): Featuring "Mírame," an exhibition highlighting works by artists such as Abby Aceves, Tiffany Alfonseca, Ruby Bloo, Monica Hernandez, and Elba Raquel. MACLA is dedicated to showcasing contemporary Latino art and culture, providing a platform for diverse artistic expressions.
