New Development From Jay Paul Co Broke Ground Today in

The first Class A office building to be developed in downtown San Jose in a decade officially broke ground today. Jay Paul Co. is responsible for the new office tower at 200 Park Ave. which, when completed, will be the tallest office building in downtown at 19 stories.

Both Mayor Sam Liccardo and Jay Paul himself were present at the groundbreaking ceremony. In a statement, Jay Paul assured that “we’re committed to the city and we’re excited about being here. We think this is going to be the center of technology for a long time.”

The office tower is projected to include 875,000 square feet of office space at the corner of Park Avenue and South Almaden Blvd. The design includes a series of terraces and bridges, ample natural lighting on every floor, outdoor gathering areas, and both city and mountain views.

In addition to Jay Paul’s new office tower, Adobe is also working on expanding their office space in downtown San Jose with a fourth tower that would accommodate thousands of employees. Google has also formally submitted their proposal for a San Jose based campus in the form of a transit-oriented village located on the wester edges of downtown.

Along with these prominent office developments, many housing projects are currently under construction or in the approval process. This includes the long awaited 188 W St James high rise which is nearing completion and plans on opening sales in early 2020.

The 200 Park Ave. office tower is currently projected for completion in 2023.
