MidPen Housing, alongside the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Agency (VTA), is embarking on a groundbreaking initiative to redefine urban living in Santa Clara Valley. Their joint venture seeks to transform the traditional concept of urban development with the creation of an Emerging Urban District Mobility Hub. This project will convert existing surface parking areas into a lively, eco-friendly, and transit-oriented mixed-use development. At the core of this ambitious plan is the development of 203 units including studios, 1b, 2b, and 3b, all designed to provide high-quality affordable housing. This initiative aligns with their commitment to bridging the gap in affordable housing and fostering economic diversity within the communities.
Moreover, the Mobility Hub concept goes beyond merely providing housing. It represents a holistic approach to urban development, emphasizing walkability, bikeability, and sustainability. The development is meticulously designed to include community-serving spaces that encourage social interaction and cohesion among residents. By introducing safer, dedicated bicycle and pedestrian paths, along with secure bicycle storage, they aim to promote healthier, more sustainable transportation choices among residents. This not only supports environmental stewardship but also contributes to the overall well-being of the community.
